By purchasing any Swellpro product from one of the authorised NZ Swellpro dealers or JCMatthew NZ Ltd, you agree that you have read and understand and are bound by the information provided below.
Please note that only product supplied by JCMatthew NZ Ltd in New Zealand is eligible for warranty as per below. Any grey imported Swellpro product, or product purchased via non authorised channel, or any product not supplied by JCMatthew NZ Ltd, will need to be taken up with the manufacturer directly.
If you need to return something you have purchased & you are claiming a warranty situation it will be checked by the trained JCMatthew technicians for any signs of user damage. If any user damage or normal wear and tear is found it will not be covered under our warranty and will be returned to you at your own cost.
Please retain your receipt as you will be asked to show your receipt upon a product return. If you cannot provide your original receipt then JCMatthew NZ Ltd reserves the right to not cover under warranty.
If a product is found NOT to be under warranty following inspection by our Service Team, then an inspection fee will be charged to the customer, at a rate of $85+GST.
If you want to proceed with service on an item which is affected by user damage or are wanting the item repaired as a normal paid repair situation, JCMatthew Service will charge $85 + GST upfront as an inspection fee.
The Service Department will inspect the unit and if the unit is repairable, the customer will be charged for $85 + GST per hour for any labour. If the customer decides to go through with the repair process, the $85+gst which was initially charged as inspection fee, will be deducted from the final amount.
Please note that the freight on all product returns to us (either in-warranty or out of warranty) needs to be covered by the customer. (Back to Auckland Service Centre)
If you return your item and no user damage is found, we will inspect the item and inform you of how we will remedy the situation for you. Please note that JCMatthew NZ Ltd will not pay for product to be returned to us for inspection.
Note: JCMatthew NZ Ltd is not responsible for USER DAMAGE on drones or any other items. USER DAMAGE or product MIS-USE is not included under warranty.
JCMatthew NZ Ltd is not responsible for any damage to a package during transportation when product is returned to us for inspection. This remains the responsibility of the sender. We reserve the right to reject any package that is being sent back to us, that has been damaged during transit.
REFUNDS AND RETURNS
We handle all returns and process repairs, replacements, or refunds in accordance with NZ Consumer Law. Our liability for products that are found to be under warranty is limited to: supplying you the repaired products; or the replacement of the product (with another of the same state of repair and quality) if repair is not applicable . JCMatthew NZ Ltd is also at the mercy of the courier agents and also the manufacturer (Swellpro). We will do our best to liaise on behalf of our customers with the manufacturer to get any service work completed in a timely manner, but please understand that the manufacturer will make the ultimate call on particular cases as part of the “manufacturer’s warranty”, and JCMatthew is obliged to adhere to this decision.
WARRANTY INFORMATION
New Drone bodies normally come with a 12 month warranty from purchase date on the drone itself (pleases see further details below), that covers manufacturer issues or product faults. The Drone body includes: The Drone itself, including all motors, both internal and external parts that are attached to the drone permanently, electronic and mechanical parts. However the 12 month warranty does not include: the drone battery and remote control battery, remote control, propellers, charger, and case.
The warranty does not cover wear and tear, mis-use of product, or other issues or crashes related to customer use (including damage to any third parties). If any crash does occur and then subsequently the drone is used again before it is serviced by the authorised New Zealand Swellpro service centre, then this will void any warranty on the product.
Note that the product with the reported problem MUST to be first returned to the authorised repair agent for each brand (at the customers cost) to be reviewed by technicians before the manufacturer is able to make final decision about the issue. No warranty claim can be evaluated if the product is not first returned. Only the authorised New Zealand manufacturer service agent can provide legitimate inspection and analysis of any product returned.
Refurbished drone bodies come with a 6 month warranty, and all new batteries come with a 6 month warranty. All other new products and parts come with a 3 month warranty. See further details below.
Warranty and liability is limited to the product purchased, and not any additional losses incurred, including any third party losses or damage that may be incurred.

How long does the warranty last?
- New Drones (GPS): Drone Body 12 months warranty. Propellers, Landing gear carry a 1 month warranty. Supplied batteries and charger carry a 6 month warranty. Remote control carries a 6 month warranty.
- New Accessories: 3 months warranty.
- New Batteries: 6 Month warranty.
- Refurbished, ex Demo, Second hand, Non packaged Drones & supplied accessories: 6 month on GPS Drone bodies, No warranty on drone battery, charger (and remote battery if applicable) or landing legs, or the propellers, 1 month on any other accessories and ad-ons including, cameras, fishing release systems, remote control, etc. Note that for refurbished, ex demo and second hand drones (ie. not new product) our policy is to repair the drone or any accessories that are found to have a manufacturing fault. Refunds for a pre-owned or ex demo drone or accessories is not applicable.
- Wear and tear, user caused faults (including water damage and lack of maintenance), or failure to follow the product manual correctly (see the support section) are not covered under warranty). All product listings for drones that are ex. demo, refurbished, second hand or not in original packaging are regarded as not brand new and therefore may have blemishes, minor defects and might not have all accessories in the box as found in brand new units.
- A replacement product (or part) or repaired product assumes the remaining warranty period of original purchase date of the initial product or accessory.

What does the limited warranty cover?
- The limited warranty covers any defects in material or workmanship under normal use during the warranty period.
- If the product is deemed to be under warranty by our service technician, JCMatthew NZ Ltd will repair or replace at our discretion.
What does the limited warranty NOT cover?
The limited warranty does not cover any problem that is caused by:
- Conditions, malfunctions or damage not resulting from defects in material or workmanship.
- Damage due to use in and around water, corrosion, use in sand and salt environments, or using or leaving the product in rain or open weather environments .
- Any damage (visibile or not visible) resulting from a crash of the drone.
- Any damage due to dropping the product or battery, or some sort of significant impact.
- Damage or malfunction of the product resulting from negligence, rough use of the product or lack of maintenance or the presence of sand or other contaminant materials.
- Cleaning of the product where there is sand, dirt or other material including water, corrosion, or general lack of maintenance.
- Wear and tear is also not covered under warranty.
- Damage to a product resulting from unauthorized modification of the product.
- Theft or loss of the product.
- The Warranty does not cover return shipping to our Auckland service centre from your location – for our service team to investigate the issue further.
- The warranty on any Products purchased from this store is not transferable, meaning that if original ownership of the product is transferred to someone else (either by way of selling, gifting, or otherwise transferring ownership) then the warranty lapses right away.
- Warranty does not cover any services, or training provided by JCMatthew or anyone else affiliated with JCMatthew, or any resulting third party damage subsequent to any services or training being provided.
- It also doesn’t cover if you change your mind about your purchase. We are obliged to repair or replace in relation to any manufacturer defects but there is no obligation on JCMatthew NZ Ltd if you have changed your mind.
- Warranty or liability does not cover any third party damage suffered as a result of this product being used or mis-used.
- The Warranty on Swellpro products is completely and explicitly limited only to the product itself, and no warranty or liability applies to loss of other property (drone owners property or third party property), or any injury (drone owner or third party).
Rechargeable Batteries (LIPO, LIHV, or others)
Note: There is a six month limited warranty on rechargeable batteries within drones and remote controls, or batteries sold separately. If you claim the battery to be faulty within that time period, the battery will be inspected and if any user abuse, improper maintenance, crash damage, or mis-use is found on the battery, the claim will be rejected.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Lithium based batteries (including LIPO and LIHV) can pose a serious risk of injury or death if not handled and maintained correctly. Please consult the product manual and support documentation for correct care, and use of batteries.
The warranty on any rechargeable batteries is subject to the user following all safety and precautions listed on the included warning. If your drone has been crashed then the battery may have been damaged (even if it is not visible), so this will void any warranty on the battery.
Note that is important NOT to completely discharge your LIPO or LIHV battery at any time OR leave your battery on full charge for more than a day – otherwise this can permanently damage your battery, and this is not covered under warranty.
Never drop, or damage your battery in anyway otherwise the battery may become a dangerous hazard. If your battery becomes damaged, or swollen in any way, please dispose of the battery immediately in a safe manner. No warranty applies in this case. If the battery has been in a drone crash then the battery may have had cell damage (even if damage is not visible), and therefore could be dangerous if used or charged again. Batteries in this instance should be disposed of right away (in a safe manner).
IMPORTANT NOTE : NEVER leave batteries unattended while they are charging. Our strong recommendation is to always charge and store batteries in a fireproof bag or container. Do not leave the battery charger on overnight, and turn off/remove power to chargers before going to bed. Only use the correct original charger & cables supplied by the manufacturer and follow all reasonable standards while charging (ie. no double plugs or loose connections, direct connections to power outlets rather than multi-plugs). Batteries should not be stored for more than a few days on full charge and batteries should not be fully drained out of charge.
Please take note of the age limitations on products and packaging and ensure these are followed at all times..

Children should never operate a Swellpro drone, remote controller, charger, or use or handle any part of this device of accessories including batteries. Swellpro drones and accessories could pose a serious health hazard and there is a risk of injury or death, if not used and maintained correctly and can be very dangerous in the wrong hands. THIS IS NOT A TOY.
